Mercedes has done it. They’ve finally maneuvered their advertising strategy into a position that makes me want one. Not that I can afford one, but how did they do it? Did I eventually grow old enough and in to their target market? Is it the gruesome carnage in the video? Or is it because they roped in Mad Men’s Jon Hamm for the voice-over, knowing damn well that man could sell a pair of reading glasses to a blind man? I think I already know the answer.
